Taylors New Born Photos

Kenny's sister Dallas did our professional newborn photos. She doesn't consider herself a professional but I sure think she is and I'm sure you will all agree! Here is a sneak peek! Thanks again Dallas for everything. We love them!

Taylor Sophia Clara Albiston

I had my last doctors appointment Thursday March 17, I was 2 cms so she striped my membranes again and we booked a date to induce me on Wednesday, March 23rd.. Which I clearly didn't need. That night I started having some mild contractions every 1omins from about 5pm-10pm then went to bed and didn't have anymore though out the night which was nice to be able to have a good night sleep since the next morning after Kenny left work at 6am they started again and wouldn't let me sleep any longer. At about 930 I finally gave up and went to the bathroom where I found a lot of fluid so I thought my water might have broken I waited a little bit longer to see if the contractions were going to get worse for about an hour then I called my doctor to ask if I should go to the hospital. She said I sounded like my water had broken and I should go just to make sure (little did I know I wasn't going to be leaving.) I tried to call Kenny to let him know what was going on but I couldn't get a hold of him so just left him a message and went. (I quickly packed the last couple things for my hospital bag just in case)
When I got to the hospital they hooked me up to the monitors everything was looking good except my blood pressure was a little high again. My contractions were every 4.5-5 mins. They did a test for amniotic fluid to see if my water had broken and it came back negative. They called Dr Godwin and she wasn't happy with the result of the test so she wanted me to walk around the hospital with a pad on for about an hour to if it caught anything. When I went to start my walk I finally got a hold of Kenny and told him what was going on and that I would call him again when I was home. I went to get something to eat finished my walk and went back to see if I could go home. When I got back Dr Godwin was waiting for me, she said she didn't want to play this waiting game anymore and it wasn't worth waiting if my high blood pressure was going to be a problem and it was already past my due day so we should we start things now. I said sure but I need to call my husband first and let him know. After I called Kenny and he was on his way they moved me to a private room and inserted prostaglandin (which I was supposed to keep in for 12hrs) at about 230. Slowly the contractions started to get stronger and my blood pressure was now back to normal. Kenny got there at about 430, we sat around and talked for about an hour, went for a walk and watched meet the parents. The contractions were now starting to get a lot stronger and it hurt to be in bed so i stood for a little while but they were still getting pretty unbearable, i wanted to have a shower but I knew the nurse was going to be coming to check me soon so after she did I went in the shower and it was amazing! It was like the contractions stopped for about an hour and were pretty mild after that. I stayed in there for a 2.5hrs and did not get out till Dr. Godwin came to check me again which was at 930 (she was coming to put another dose of prostgladin since my other one fell out) When she got there I was 3 cms so she broke my water (which I was very thankful for since it was going to speed things up) I had to stay on the monitor for another 30mins after to make sure everything was still going good.. which it wasn't, baby's heart rate would drop really low after each contraction and wasn't getting better. They were talking about doing a c section if things didn't get better soon. At this point I was starting to feel some pressure and the nurse over heard me telling Kenny so she decided to check me again and I was 9 cms!! I really didn't believe her at first it had only been about 25 mins since they last checked. She said yup I'm sure and that's why baby's heart rate was dropping, she got me a wheel chair and off we went to a delivery room. I layed in there and had a couple contraction on each side and then started feeling the erge to push so I started pushing and 17 mins later we had a baby GIRL at 10:54. Kenny started crying and saying over and over how perfect she was, I sent him to go take pictures and be with her while they stitched me up and did all the fun stuff they do after (which was probably the worst part!) I had hemorrhaged and had a second degree tear so it took a while till I could hold her. She was 9lbs 4oz and 21" of perfection! Taylor was the only girl name that we had both agreed on and Sophia Clara are mine, and my moms middle names and a couple others in our family have it too.
Our hospital stay was pretty good, I was having trouble breastfeeding on the right side so it was nice to have the help at times but also nice to be left alone when we were (every nurse had a different option! So i just listened to the ones I liked haha). The first night we were woken up every hour to do tests on me and Taylor. Then she had her first bath at 430 in the morning so it was a long night of not much sleep. The next day we had a lot of visitors so it went by pretty quick. That night was not at easy as the first, since Taylor was over tired from not getting to sleep much during the day, so it took quite a while to get her to sleep but once we finally did things went good. The last day it was nice to have it just the 3 of us, we finally got the breastfeeding down! YAY! and got to spend the morning just enjoying her. After Dr. Godwin and the pediatrician said everything was good we got to come home!! It is so nice to be home! Our first night went really good as well. Taylor woke up about every 2.5 -3 hours I fed her and she went back to sleep and its been about the same all day today. Right now we are all 3 loving life :o)
